As a side note to the focal point of the story, I read the article pubinlished in PSYCHIATRIC NEWS relative to the stalker who left notes on the wife's windows, car, door, etc. Why would anyone who went through this harrassment think that an unlocked (or locked) screen door is any protection against an intruder -- not to mention mountain lions, bear, etc.?

As a secondary side note, felony charges might make it less likely that the intruder will file or prevail in any kind of lawsuit against the victims to pay for her medical expenses. The intruder might not have good medical insurance.

She sounds like a young woman who needs help if she shoplifted in the past and has a serious drinking problem. Thank heavens she wasn't killed. Maybe this event will be her wakeup call.

It is amazing how creative people are in creating a "need" and how many stupid people there are who will buy it!

I have noticed that WalMart employs several people who have significant disabilities, many of which would have difficulty finding a job of any kind. I have seen an apparent quadraplegic working in the garden center of my local store.

I had to sell some property that was in our family since the mid-1800s (nowhere the scale of this) and it made me so sad. I can somewhat relate to Lynn's feelings and hope that the buyer will preserve the property in a similar state.
