The guy had so much talent, so much potential and he threw it away. Very sad.
Truly, It is a tough day.
Conservatives who want to tell others how to live their lives will push this through but it will be overturned by the US Supreme Court when it is heard. In spite of their past decisions, some on the conservative block will vote to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act and make same sex marriage legal because the Constitution applies to ALL citizens, not just the heterosexuals.
This is what happens when voter apathy takes hold of a town. A small, active group can take control of an election. It's important all eligible voters go to the polls and vote.
These punks who shoot guns are the problem. These punks have no respect for themselves and no respect for anyone else. Time was when you had a beef with someone they would get together and duke it out, but these punks are weak and spineless and shoot each other.
Pennies will never be removed from circulation for simple reason, postage. Right now postage rates increase in penny increments. If pennies are eliminated the rates will increase in nickel increments which will not stand well with the public. Nope, don't see that happening for many years to come, if ever.
To dumbguy and elegy, the elephant in the room is what? "...they should fit right in?" The elephant is your latent bigotry. So, you SAY you are hispanic and grew up with blacks in the south. So what? There are tons of bigotted hispanics, blacks, whites, aisans and any number of ethnic backgrounds, that doesn't wash with what you said. These euphamisms for the great unwashed are all code words. I don't know any of you, but your words, your thoughts being made public shines a bright light on your true feelings, regardless of what you say in response.
"Their own people" meaning them, those people, you know, that kind, that color, etc.
It's been said that there is a veneer thin layer of civility to those who reside in and around Seattle, apparently that goes for bigotry as well.
Every year we glean a bit more information on the life of those from ancient Egypt and more and more we are fascinated by all of it. It is truly interesting King Tut likely died from an infection brought on by a broken leg after being weakened by Malaria. Perhaps as science progresses we will learn more from all of the mummies in the Cairo Museum and all around the world.
Now all we need is a Discovery Channel program on all of this. \

Your son is not an adult and is not responsible for his actions, Mr. Groves is. That said, I don't believe the prosecutor should have brough any charges against this man. The guns belonged to his wife, he was not using them, he did not brandish them, nor were they purchased in his name. The jury, on the other hand, has no lattitude in their deliberations (unless, of course, O.J. is on trial) and must abide by the directions given by the judge. He met all three criteria for a finding of guilt so,.......... I suppose the jury COULD have found he was NOT in control of the guns and that would have brought in a finding of not guilty.
I suspect he should have taken the plea deal and his lawyer should have pressed him to do so.
