Actually, NWgardens, the pride of the mayor and city officials is what is costing millions of dollars. Most of the park fees were yearly maintenance. Not to mention the fact that the Occupy movement has offered 44,000 dollars~ to the city for repairs, and offered manhours for other efforts, and have been rebuked. They said that we could make a donation to the 'restore the park fund', but said they would not acknowledge any individual donations.

Please, don't believe everything you read. Especially this garbage.

I know that it's unlikely to change anyone's minds, but, two different news stations said they received two different reports about exactly why the parks were being cleared. The reason: Both were false

There were no 'park' officers who were met aggressively.

Portland Police came up to one of the tents, and began putting his hands on it.

The same officer, during the march, assaulted a marcher just for being too close to him. The officer was angry because the protester was on the sidewalk... which is where we were being told to be. The officer was, eventually, chastised by a fellow officer and told to back off, with an apology to the marcher.

Frankly, KATU's coverage of this is entirely one sided, and, honestly? I'm guessing that the negative comments are actually coming from a very limited number of people, given the lack of actual pictures, and the commonality in the comments.

Either that, or I'm just seeing a lot of mindless sheep that REALLY have no idea what is going on, and are satisfied with the fact that the rich are undertaxed, while their own money given to the government is being increased.
