For Lenin and his gang, the French Revolution was only a stepping stone to real mass murder. Several weeks before the Bolsheviks seized power in 1917, Lenin proclaimed that Soviet power would be enforced through "the grain monopoly" and "bread rationing" (starvation), and he added that "These means of control and of compelling people to work will be more potent than the laws of the Convention and its guillotine.
