Why not start Chapman out in AAA where you can tightly control his innings/pitches? That way you can stretch him out for the long haul. Just an idea...

No surprise to me you ditched the Cubs after one year. You've got class, man! You don't belong in that crowd.

Perhaps it's some inner redneck in me, but I PREFER cans. I really don't like bottles much. When I buy bottled beer I typically pour it in a glass. But for normal beer drinkin', I like an ice cold can. DELISH!

I'm a little older than that, and I must admit I enjoy some of the new "crap". I like a very wide range of music. I've been told my iPod has multiple personality disorder (no disrespect intended). One thing I realized a long time ago, though, is that the new stuff has no "staying power". What appeals to many right now in pop, hip hop, or R&B is obsolete in just a few short years. Classic rock, in my mind, is just timeless. Old rock just never gets old to me.

I'd like to see how that was spelled out.

Valid point. It's just infuriating, and I think like so many other people, I feel pretty helpless. This school apparently even had an up-to-date security procedure, locking the doors at a certain time every morning in an attempt to prevent unauthorized entry.

Armed, trained security guards are a great idea. I'd thought about that, too. I'm not sure where districts would get the money to pay them, though.

You can't prevent nut jobs from EVER attempting mass murders again, but I think taking appropriate steps to make it damn near impossible to harm children while they're in school should be a top priority. Whatever it takes....those schools should be like little fortresses.

This whole thing is just very sad.

I know this won't be a popular statement, but the only thing that seems like it MIGHT be a decent deterrent is to have teachers or school faculty trained in weapons handling and arm them. How else do you keep lunatics from barging into schools and murdering innocent children and adults? Maybe lunatics will look elsewhere if they know they may get gunned down themselves before injuring/killing others.

I just don't know. Our society just continues to go down the crapper.
