I and many others do agree with her, you guys just happen to be louder (and way more obnoxious at the moment). I agree that Jesus is loving and compassionate, and that God is the one who will judge. He is JUST, and HE will Judge. Some time back, a pastor friend shared how someone from Rainbow Coalition had contacted his church for funding for AIDS awareness. His response can be found in Romans 1:24-32. For those of you who own a Bible, you should review this...if you don't, you can find it on Biblegateway.com
No one was "made" to be gay....some have a tendency to that sin, just as some have the tendency to steal or lie, or abuse their spouse, or be unfaithful. It's all sin in God's book, whether big or little. Why else would there be so many "confirmed" gays, who would find Jesus, and choose to turn their back on that "lifestyle", because they recognized they were wrong. Some have prayed and God has taken that desire from them.
Everyone has but one life to live, they can live it as they choose, but God have pity on the nation who tries to redefine what HE has already defined.
I will close with a little something known as Pascal's Wager (Blaise Pascal was a brilliant Mathematician) who also knew of God's sovereignty. In paraphrase, "It is better to live your life as though God exists, and to die only to learn that HE doesn't, than to live your life as though HE doesn't exist, and then die to learn that HE does."
Here are the 4 possible outcomes:
1) You believe HE is real and HE is - you win all (heaven, peace, etc)
2) You believe HE is real and HE is not - you've still lived a good life
3) You don't believe in HIm, and He doesn't exist - you get nothing
4) You don't believe in Him, and He does exist - You lose all, you get eternal punishment.
While this doesn't prove God is real, are you willing to take the risk?
