The monarchy is not in harmony with the values Canadians hold today- democracy, egalitarianism, independence. Currently, we are spending $ 50,000,000 a year to maintain an official institution embodying values- hereditary privilege, classism, colonialism- which are in opposition to those held by most Canadians! Mr. Freda is right- its time for a change.
