My kid is antisocial, and any time a potential "friend" approaches her on the park/mallplayground/dark alley/etc she whines and runs to us going, "NOOOOO!"

Friendliest. Ever.

Meanwhile Josh and I are hunkered together, whispering and pointing at the tattooed couple wearing geek shirts, trying to hatch a plan to make them a new couple friend without coming across as creepy, desperate, weird, or like we're trying to kidnap them and wear them as suits.

Really well said, mama. I too plan on making the consequences of a very adult behavior very clear. I respect your thoughts of expecting abstinence (I mean.. none of us WANT our kiddos to go out and have sex) but educating safety also. And I plan on using ugly details too! "See this? No, I get the cloth pad thing. Those are reusable, you're not just gonna wad those up & throw 'em in the garbage. The swirly designs and the fact that they called the white pad "boring" are what kill me. It's a disposable pad! I'm gonna bleed on it, and then throw it away! Silly.

I'm sorry to hear about your fertility problems. I know far too many women and men with them. My mom had to have a partial oophorectomy before she got pregnant with my older brother. *hugs*
