In the news just yesterday was the Dem Senator from New York (? I think that is where he is from) calling a Dem Lobbyist a name. He began his rant with "I am the only member of congress who is actually an economist ... ". Basically, he was offended because someone without his experience in economics was trying to tell him how to do things ... And yet, according to those very same people (the Democrats), I am supposed to be OK with someone with ZERO military experience telling the commanding general who will (basically) hold my son's life in his hands how to do things ... not to mention the *glaring* lapse in time in doing so!!!

What is wrong with this picture??!? I just don't understand!!!

Woofie,

Your comment has been on my heart since I replied to it earlier. Know that our boys are *well* trained, and the most disciplined fighting force America has ever had. That being said, I also understand how heavily this weighs on your heart. Wives and children have their own ordeal, but for the parents of our troops it is a whole different situation. After all, we have spent our children's lives protecting them ... and now our hands are tied. It is no easy task ahead of you .... but I am living proof that it *is* survivable for all parties concerned!! (And, I am not necessarily a pillar of strength here!!) For all that you are going to experience ... and feel ... and hear ... know that most of America supports you and your son with all their hearts. They will tell you that themselves if you give them the chance.

I will be sure to keep you and your son in my prayers,

God Bless,

A fellow (and very proud) parent of one of America's finest

Planet_Hero,
I have read a few of your comments here and I must say that you have the President's talking points down to a tee. The question I have for you is how much of your flesh and blood is in harm's way as Mr Obama has pondered their fate, yet taken no action. My guess is none. And, keeping that in mind, I have no problem informing you that your comments have been as insensitive as they have been ignorant. I am constantly informed that the party to the left of center is the "compassionate" party. Well ... You couldn't prove it by me after reading your little rants.

Agreed!! If this Commander in Chief cannot get behind our troops in their fight for our freedoms, he should fell free to stand in front of them.

I was just watching a piece of the Obama/Al Maliki press conference (on Fox News, of course!!) and Mr Obama took the time to *Thank* our men and women serving over there!!! *THANK* them!!! GREAT .... More freakin' words!! Dear Mr. President, As the mother of a soldier getting ready to ship to Afghanistan, this time *words* won't do ... unless those words are "Send the requested troops"!! If you are unable to speak those words, than you *really* need to bring our boys home, and accept that *you* are the one who failed!!

How *dare* you!! You, Sir, are the reason my heart breaks. WE did everything YOU would have had us do, and yet 9/11 happened!! Thank the Lord that the last time this country was attacked (1941 in case the reference confused you), this country had the go-nads (forgive the vulgarity) to stand up and defend freedom. And, thank God that there are young men with fortitude that are *still* willing to lay down their lives for freedom .... even *yours*!! I pray for this country every night ... but an uneasiness still stirs in my heart ... *mostly* because of people like you.

As the mother of a soldier who served in the Surge, and is now getting ready to ship to Afghanistan, I have to say I am pretty tired of all this. The man who leaves our troops out to dry (as he, *nine* months into his administration, seemingly tries to figure out how to permanently withdraw his support for our soldiers) gets praised ... as congress takes money from that money set aside for supplying my boy and our troops with what they need to survive, to build libraries to dead senators ... as one of the citizens who has benefited from my son's blood, sweat and tears gets accolades for disparaging the one man who had the guts to free him!!!! As someone who is very proud of my son's service, and has *always* supported our troops *AND* the job that they do ... I just don't know what to make of this all. For me, it is *very* disheartening.
