I think you'll find that Verity Edwards based her article on one written by Richard Black at the BBC. Neither Richard Black, Ellen Nisbet, nor Dr Keppler asserted that any theory had been "debunked".
The fact still remains that in both research projects plants have been observed to emit methane. Ellen Nisbet has challenged the inference that plants produce methane rather than emit methane through transpiration.
If Verity Edwards had sited Richard Blacks article in which he quotes both authors the ensuing debate would be better informed.
