As described, this would be a "magnet" school, not a charter school (same is true of Elysian & HoLa). If children are awarded spots via lottery, wouldn't that be true for the founders' kids too? If their own kids don't get in, doesn't that mean their plan unravels?

It's highly unlikely that many kids would meet the standard for entrance even after winning a spot.

By their own description, in order to gain entrance a child must already "....have the skills, knowledge, and habits to achieve their goals, both individually and as part of a community." So let's say a kid wins the placement lottery, but doesn't possess the executive function skills the school requires - what then? By what objective standard do they judge the skills of those kids before placement is awarded and is this the way to discriminate along class lines?

Corpulent Clan Russo will not be holding any press conferences today. They're all "down da shaw" at the house we bought for them.

Where does one start? The breast implants, the processed hair, the botoxed lips, the false eyelashes, the pancake makeup...she's not a woman, she's a kit! Is she TRYING to look like a parody of a transvestite? Oh, I'm sorry, I thought we were talking about Mason.

Reasonable, sane Hobokenites don't suffer fools gladly, but apparently Tim's mother could.

There's a lot of open space between Councilpuppet Occhipinti's ears.

Giattino is right to be cautious and careful about the use and potential abuse of eminent domain, but that doesn't mean when there are clear-cut cases for advancing the public good this tool shouldn't be used. Without it, we'd have fewer parks, schools, highways and railroads.

How will Councilpuppet Occhipinti vote? He'll vote the way Councilwhore Mason tells him to.

The great state of Vermont does not deserve the toxic waste in the person of Perry Klaussen. Question for any CPA that reads this blog: If Perry lives in Vermont, but most if not all of his income is derived from 921 Hudson Street, Hoboken, NJ, will he have to pay taxes in both states?

It's over and not worth anything at any price. Under the current and potential future owner, no one would ever trust that they could post there and not experience retaliation. Without posters, there's no traffic to the site. Without traffic, no ad sales, No ad sales = no income, which is where Perry is now, no value.

So Beth gets to keep more of her money and Perry gets a one-way ticket to Palookaville. Too bad. He coulda had class; he coulda been a contender. He coulda been somebody instead of a bum, which, let's face it, is what he is.

Vermont is liberal, but they're still New Englanders and his way of doing business and brand of blogging will not be welcome. Perry the Pornographer has found folks in greener pastures to be shunned by. I believe there are federal agents in those rolling hills too.
