Yes but we never typically explicitly say that to children. That's an implicit / environmental nuance they could pick up. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this information, but the age groups seem a bit young to grasp the gravity of the material. Maybe a handful of them would understand the implications fully.

First of all, if you listen to conservative radio, and I do, they bring up Sarah Palin all the time, in contexts that are often not really all that relevant to her. She's a name you drop these days to draw attention to an issue or a candidate. And I agree the original poster really had no business talking about Palin, but the cat's out of the bag, now isn't it.

Second of all, just because someone doesn't like Sarah Palin doesn't make them a leftist. Myself, I am for gradually (not radically) shrinking government to a more reasonable level, balancing the budget, and checking the Executive branch. So your assertion that I'm one of those "lefties" falls flat. I'm not gonna lie, I have some leftist leanings, but if there's a Republican candidate that's selling a better product, they'll get my vote. E.g. I'm a fan of private school vouchers. I know a lot of Dems that are not too happy with Obama. But let's at least be rational about politics, and not LOL SOCIALISM, LOL DESTROYING AMERICA.

I know Gage personally, and believe me everyone that knows him is confused and utterly enraged by what he did. He is far from a monster, though. You know, I don't know what would be best to do with him but I'm not sure if 5 years in jail / prison would be good for him or even worse. Generally I think the perpetrators *should* be required to find some way to pay for all or most of the damage they caused as well as some community service on top. I'm just so pissed off at him it's hard to think objectively about the matter, though.

Orly? If that's your prerogative that's fine with me. Keep supporting Palin. Nominating her for President in 2012 is a surefire way to keep a Democrat in the White House. But if I were the Repubs I'd find someone that most Americans can take seriously to replace her.

That's true, I think your average person would quit a governorship a year and a half into the job instead of two and a half. It's probably really boring compared to doing speaking engagements and being a cheerleader for ideologically compatible candidates.
