The show's producers came to economically depressed Western Massachusetts and solicited goods and services. People here were so excited. It was in the news for months and the local ABC affiliate was sure to mention on every newscast, that a house would be built in Western Massachusetts.
When the announcement was made, surprise, surprise, the house for Western Massachusetts was to be built in a wealthy community in Connecticut!
No donations of any kind were solicited in Connecticut for this house. They passed the hat through Western MA.
This was "our" community's house and it wasn't even being built in our state!
Just get everything spelled out for you!
And no, I wasn't an applicant.
