The answer is in the article:
"Now for the point of this post, I would like to announce the release of a pet project I have been working on for the last week: Pinguy E17 Remix"

This is an announcement. Please read before you criticize.

I see that our musical tastes agree where our theme tastes don't!

Good points anyway. As it is famously said in the Linux world, it's all a matter of taste in the end, and there is no perfect ****** for everybody.

Thanks for your tips. I didn't use any external storage device so I hadn't noticed that. Thanks :-)

I agree. As far as I can see, this release is particularly stable. I hope they'll keep this level of quality for the next ones.

Yes, but that's probably just because they realize that 1 offering would piss off the Ubuntu community. I don't have the impression that they are thinking about getting serious about Linux

I agree, but even opensource desktops should try to move away fro the norm. Gnome Shell is promising though, even if I'm not entirely convinced that they are doing it right. Ubuntu Unity is nice too.

You have stability problems related to KDE? Which OS do you use?

I agree about the "start menu" clone, it's just terrible. I wonder why it's still there; most people I know hate it.

That's how open source works, true, but most people can't program, even in the Linux world.

For other distros, I'd say there is a lot more work to do than programming, but for Kubuntu it's mostly about implementing Ubuntu features and fixing bugs.

I don't think Buzz can be compared to Facebook. The lack of symmetrical "friending" makes it more akin to Twitter.

For a Google vs. Facebook comparison, we'll have to wait for "Google Me" (if we ever see it)
