Juan McCainez should have chosen Comrade Moore as his running mate and all would have been well with great vengeance!

They have to use a Palin character because an Obama character would, no doubt, first bow to the Nazi commander and then surrender and a McCainez character would, no doubt, bow to the Nazi commander and then surrender.

I don't know if it will work but the first season was very good. John Carpenter tried something similar with the Halloween movie series and while Halloween 3:Season of the Witch was pretty inventive, everyone wanted the machete wielding maniac in a mask.

Until I read this, I didn't realize the TV series would be a different story every year, the ending seemed to leave a continuation open.

Actors are people who get paid to pretend for a living. They are like children playing house only get huge paychecks. Every actor is over rated.

(Except Vincent Price.)

Both versions of The Shining are lacking. Both screw up the scariest scene in the book. I can forgive the Kubrick version for that. I mean, he's Kubrick and he didn't write the novel. But Stephen King had big hand in the mini-series and so that is harder to forgive.

Until I read this, I just figured it was a remake with a girl in the lead role. I thought a good tagline would have been:

The Thing was nothing like Alien. Until now.

Oh yeah, because of John Carpenter's movie, I went out and found a book with Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell in it. While I haven't read it since the 1980s, I remember it being a good story and I could see why Howard Hawks version might seem unsatisfying to a fan of that story. Of course, its still an fantastic movie. Like opera without music.

I watched the MNF game last night. Terra Nova sounded awful from the premise, because it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. But I DVR'd to watch, just in case they exposited an acceptable explanation for why such a goofy plan would work.

If it was a good idea, Eureka would have done it.

I remember, vaguely, when the Exorcist first came out it was rated X and then it was released a few months later and it was rated R. I had wondered what had changed. And why where they re-releasing it? (I didn't see the Exorcist until I was much older but the TV and radio adverts for it terrified me as a child).

Chicago is always sending us their problem children, maybe it is time we reciprocate.
