Helping the "less fortunate" does not the mean subsidizing an expensive and wasteful bureaucracy for the purpose of building a new political power base.

I remember watching a documentary on the Cuban Missile crisis (on the History Channel, if I'm not mistaken), that revealed that while the ballistic missiles were not yet operational, the Soviets did have tactical battlefield nukes avaiable that could have obliterated the U.S. Marines ready to land on Cuba's beaches! Good thing Khrushchev came to his senses....Then again, I'm sure he was shook up when that Russian SAM took down that U.S. plane, against his orders. Another one of those incidents...goodbye world!

Phillep said: "You assumed Filipinos feel some sort of solidarity with Japan based on a relationship dreamed up by Europeans? "

Manila2010 replied: What kind of question is that? I never even hinted on what you just said....
Yeah, I suppose when you mention to your Japanese friends the necessity of removing children of Japanese ancestry from orphanages and not allowing non-Japanese spouses to gain custody of their mixed race children, all for sake of maintaining national security, they would all nod in agreement and shake your hand....Ha! Give me an hour with these folks and allow me to reveal what I know, and they would probably hang you afterwards...lol

You are an amusing fellow....How else would I consider someone who advocates a policy that requires the removal of children from orphanages and from their parents merely because of their ancestry....You have a very twisted thinking process for you to suggest that I advocated "not doing anything" about Japanese expansion. But of course, the blatant racism in the U.S. at the time made it difficult if not impossible to recruit Asian-Americans for secret missions against Japan prior to the war......You are so full of "assumptions," all of them wrong...lol

Regarding the "sneak" attack on Pearl Harbor, then Vice Admiral Bull Halsey would not have been privy to any info. It would have only been FDR and his closest advisors. Things are becoming crystal clear! Now, it seems perfectly clear even more why the courageous Admiral James Richardson was relieved of his command! If Stinnett is right, then OMG, all those brave people who died....and they didn't have a fighting chance because the government didn't let them....
But I want you to look at these and comment. I'll add a few more links for your info on another post since I think I am limited to just two per post:

Yeah, but you were giving validity to a policy that any reasonable person today would find reprehensible. I may have repeated something that common knowledge, but the truth of it does not appear to resonate with certain people...And by the way, I never acted like I alone had information that no one had. Given that the information is widely available, the more that you should agree that internment was an unnecessary injustice. Besides, how could you adequately defend an opposing viewpoint knowing what we know of the event? Can you really justify a policy that required removal of children of Japanese ancestry from orphanages and from their non-Japanese parents all in the interest of national security?

God bless your father...He's a great man, which is more than I can say about some people on this forum....
