I don't smoke but this is just more infringement on personal freedom. Tobacco is LEGAL. If tobacco is the evil that's killing you and other non-smokers, why isn't it deemed an illegal product??!!

As for the Obama change; Government takeover of banks, car industry, double digit unemployment, soon to be government takeover of health care (that will be paid for by increased taxes on YOU!) a revert to 1970's welfare system in his first hours as president. How ‘bout NO support of troops in Afghanistan? How’s that change working out for ya?!

In August 2003, 14,800 people died in a heat wave in France where temperatures reached 104. August is considered holiday month in France when many physicians were on vacation. Chirac was also on holiday and refused to come back and also refused to recall government paid doctors to return to work during the crises. Other areas were plagued by hospital closures and personnel strikes due to deep government budget cuts in health care. The deaths were mainly the elderly and disabled. Not homeless drunks or drug addicts. Government run health care made a decision that certainly didn’t help these people survive.
George HW Bush gave the same speech in 1991 and received all kinds of heck from Democrats. Very same message. What was so wrong with that speech that upset Democrats 18 years ago?
The government can't even manage a 3 billion cash for clunkers program. And now they want to run a 1 trillion health care program? Obama said it best himseslf. " UPS and FedEX are doing fine. It's the post office that's having trouble."
Why, then, do we have elections if the people are required to do the job of the elected officials? I thought we lived in a representative republic. Your post suggest you believe there is no wasteful spending in government.
