Now, let's look at Obama for a second and go back to his 2008 campaign. As we all know, Obama never released any of his college transcripts, scholarly writings or anything that would expose his psyche from back when he was a consumer of academia. Also, we know that Obama has no writings attributed to him post-JD outside of his two books (which likely were scribed by a ghostwriter). Back in '08, we all thought that it was to hide is Socialist streak, but even if that were true, it would hide the whole story. Fast forward to the present time -- where we have $Trillion deficits ad infinitum, exacerbatingly waning job security at home, and chaos abroad; in other words, we are witnessing an incompetent job performance by Obama in the role of Chief Executive that rivals Jimmy Carter. Now, the reason Obama is performing so poorly is that the most important trait required of a leader is critical thinking, which he has often shown lacking the last three+ years -- which is also why he hasn't published in any journal (even though he was a college professor), and why his campaign has been so reticent about releasing anything related to his academic record.
And, when you look at the SNL folks, whose own critical thought seemed to go to the grave with the late, great Phil Hartman (which is documented in the clip above -- or any clip from the show since the late 90's for that matter), it would make sense that the writing staff for this show would be acutely aware of Obama's analytical vapidity -- something they seem to share with the current POTUS. So, it makes sense they would defend Obama to the hilt even if Meyers, et al. happened to be right-leaning. After all, it's just human nature to defend someone who shares your own deficiencies -- a common political worldview just strengthens it.
Then again, that political worldview might just be a byproduct of a lack of critical thought. I would hope that's not the case, but the empirical evidence runs contrary to my desires.
