Indignation said: "But... it fits the narrative! It's probably still true, they just don't have any of that pesky "evidence". "

Yes, I'm surprised that HuffPo seems to have backed down on this one. I would have expected them to take a page out of the Dan Rather play book and do the "fake but true" defense. It makes me wonder if HuffPo solicited the fradulent document the same way that Dan Rather's minions solicited the fake Bush documents. At least they didn't use proportionally spaced font that was designed and copyrighted by Microsoft on a document that was supposed typed on a National Guard typewriter in the 60s. So at least they were smarter than the dolts at 60 minutes.

I guess Huffpo could still use the new NPR journalist guidelines and just ignore the "facts" from the manager because the "weight" of the evidence is obviously on the side of it being true.

I guess Dax felt so inadequate as a man compared to the real men in that film that he had to lash out to assuage his ego.

I'd sure like to know if a cell phone was involved in that accident because that type of drifting out of the lane (in this case the left edge of the lane being defined by the berm of ice left over by the snow plow) is exactly the type of drifting I've seen before when people are looking at their phones and not the road.

I have to agree the hypocrisy is astounding. A couple of days ago Nolte dropped a profanity into one of his articles, which if any of us quoted him would get us deleted and possibly banned.

"Nuremberg’s Bratwurst prices triple, thanks to Iran"

Just out of curiosity, what percentage of the cost of making a Brat where the Iranian sheep intestines before and after the price hike?

Personally, i find it hard to believe that that the cost of the casing was a big fraction of the cost. I would expect that the price of those casings would have to go up by a factor of a hundred or more to justify a factor of three increase in the price of the Brat.

"70% of Greeks express anger and revulsion at Germans"

People always hate the person they are forced to borrow money from. It's a big blow to the ego to be so reckless and/or incompetent that you are forced to go hat-in-hand and beg for money, so you compensate and stroke your own ego by saying what a turd the person that is giving you charity is.

I don't understand why the Germans are putting up with it. It would be just as effective and probably cheaper, to just backstop the banks and other entities that are holding Greek debt instead of continuing to poor money down the bottomless pit of Greece.

Yeah, just look at Greece. Their economy is so "stimulated" by their >20% unemployment rate that it's on fire [at least I smell something burning]. /sarcasm

^^^ The whole world has been completely mad for a long time. But now that they've all run out of other people's money to spend, they can no longer hide their nuttiness behind a party atmosphere.

More likely the AP actually solicited it. "Will no one rid me of these meddlesome deniers?"

The best that I can tell is that Apple screwed themselves on this one. It seems that Apple bought "some" rights to the name in "some" countries from a foreign subsidiary of the Chinese company that is now suing Apple. That company is apparently arguing that the foreign subsidiary only held the rights to the name in some foreign countries while the parent company retained the rights to the name in China. Apple thinks they have the rights in China, but the Chinese company disagrees.

But it's harder than hell ferreting out any information on this deal, so God only knows what the truth is.

Good luck winning a court case in China against a Chinese "corporation", Apple. Considering what a bunch of litigious d*ckheads you've been lately, I'm frankly hoping you get screwed, even if you are right that you bought the name in China.
