freshly JB my old 3G (now on 4.2.1 with BB 04.26.08) and can't find the APN settings. Iv'e tried APN Fix from Cydia but no luck! Any ideas???

I need assistance with the following:
iPhone 3g running 3.1.2 (7D11) on firmware 04.26.08. Unlocked with ultrasn0w on TMobile US
I would like to upgrade to the latest firmware and unlock for tmobile but am confused by all the options.
Can someone give me a solution as i tried to pwn recently and got the (1600 error). I've tried restart, different usb ports but no luck.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Factory Unlocked iPhone 4 running 4.0.2. on T-Mobile
Is it safe (or even possible) to jailbreak as I have no worries about Ultrasn0w or should I wait for the 4.1 (or 4.2) jailbreak?
