It's hard to decide where to begin with your statement. First off, congradulations on your family making it to the US. However, I don't think slavery was practiced in Canada before or after the British occupation; I might be wrong. But it is obvious you know nothing about American history and specifically, the history of the American south. However, most Americans don't so it's hard to hammer you on that point. Books are cheap and if you bother to get a library card, they are free.

President Obama is finished and has been for some time. Business and investment has finally given up and decided to sit on the sideline until there is a change of command that results in an economic, monetary and regulatory policy that works. There is nothing within Obama’s ideology template of Keynesian economics and the 20th century social welfare state that will allow him to do or say anything that will bring business back into the game. Sure, you will have a few of the Warren Buffets that will laud his business and economic efforts but the people that hire, expand and control over 70% of the US economy have left this guy and are waiting for a new signal that the time is right to get back into business.
