Ina Garten says "perfect" a lot, too. But I don't mind, it's just part of her personality. If you notice on many of these "star" cooking shows, they have pet phrases they use a lot. Rachel Ray, for example, says EVOO (took me awhile to figure that one out), sammies and yummo (which she named her charity later.) Personally, these things don't bug me.
Thanks for articulating what I've been thinking. You can get your point across without being as nasty as some posters have been. If my life (or mood) hinged on the winner of TNFNS, then I need to do some deep soul searching, get off the internet and do something else that makes me feel good...like, maybe creating something in the kitchen. :)
Count me as a Melissa fan. I've read a variety of interviews and know about her point of view and background. I also like how she has memorable phrases or steps that help you replicate what she is doing.
I've got my DVR all set to record her first show.
I did like the "Survival" title of the show, but I suspect the show will evolve over time, anyway.
Keep up the good work, Food Network!
