You are racist if you do not support social justice and human rights in Nablus which is a Palestinian city on internationally recognized Palestinian land. "we" Plenty of people in Boulder support this sister city proposal. Will be telling if the radical right wing supporters of Israel no matter what they do beat this issue down with enough threats and pressure. Israel all ready gets plenty of welfare from the U.S.

What happens to Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli government and Israeli military on their own internationally recognized land. Nablus is internationally recognized Palestinian land This is what the U.S. government supports. Boulder could be different by acknowledging Nablus and the Palestinian state

This is one of the best cities for Boulder to become a sister city with. Acknowledges the need for social justice and human rights in that conflict, recognizes international law, boundaries and the two state solution. Healthy for Palestinians and Israeli's.

What a beautiful and well thought out response to the efforts of the Nablus Sister City Proposal. As you have pointed out. "Sister City organizations have to have a statement of "commitment to basic human rights." This would demonstrate Boulder's commitment to basic human rights, international agreements and international law. Demonstrating a commitment to Palestine and Israel based on the 67 border. Reasonable and truly just proposal.

If the people of Boulder were really committed to social justice and human rights for all (including Palestinians) this would not even be controversial. But some faction of Boulder is not committed to human rights and social justice based on international law. We are talking about a Palestinian Sister City on internationally recognized Palestinian land. If that does not sit well with you or other so called liberal Boulder people it exposes the deep racism and willingness to ignore international law, UN resolutions etc having to do with this critical issue

Yes you are right about the issue being shut down across the U.S. for decades. But one of the myths promoted about Boulder is that it is so "liberal" but on this issue it has been as shut down or more by the so called "liberal" Jewish community here in Boulder for decades. Agree with everything you had to say. But the progressive myth about Boulder is just that a myth....

"The views of those who support the Palestinians and Iranians in wanting to see Israel destroyed, are well disseminated." This is an inflammatory and totally false claim. Who has said anything about Israel being destroyed. There are millions of us who see Israel's continuous illegal actions as not only as a threat to peace in the middle east but as a threat to Israel based on the 67 border itself. Read my words not your imagination and inflammatory claims.
