Obama lied when he said the experts recommended the moratorium. They recommended exactly the opposite, saying that stopping active wells created more danger than not. Obama's staff then amended the report to say what he wanted, and he misrepresented it. There is a letter circulating from the actual experts saying that they supported keeping the drills going. Can you imagine if Bush did these things?

Shocking actually. It's been underreported, though, that Obama's order to stop drilling is actually more dangerous than continuing to drill, according to the very panel of experts Obama commissioned. The order, although endangering, was just a political move to show his green bona fides and that he was "doing something"..
