Read it again and it's a puff piece masquerading as journalism. Well done BT.

The Catholic Church might have lobbied, but had no influence - just as it should be.

Listened to the manager on Nolan yesterday - complacent and patronising. He regretted that staff were not being paid properly, but no reassurances that the system would be fixed for next month. This system should not be rolled out to all Health Trusts before it is properly working in the SE Trust.

Thank you Ten Major for your response - much obliged,

Although my family member (my relations didn't regard themselves as peasants) was kicked to death by Apprentice Boys in Fermanagh and later died of his injuries; I think this was about 1890. He had been a keen and active member of the Land League, which wouldn't have won him too many friends amongst the landed classes in the area; family were evicted for their involvement. It did take a while for the family to get back on feet again, they recognised education was the key.

I don't know too much about the circumstances as it was not event much alluded to in our childhood in case it would engender bitterness/anger amongst next generations. It didn't. I was well into my 20s before I heard the story. I would be fascinated to learn more. I might try the Impartial Reporter when next in Enniskillen.

If you don't drive Aldergrove is a pain in the neck to get in/out off. Ulsterbus is just too complacent to do anything about it. I've written to them and to my MLA, but they think Ulsterbus provide a good service at £7.50 a pop. And don't even think of travelling on a Sunday. Dublin airport provides a full bus service to different parts of the North, and takes in areas such as Omagh and Enniskillen so Dublin airport wins every time for the traveller who doesn't intend to hire a car.

Would be really interested in the Freeman Journal article - think incident in Fermanagh might have been a family member, although it would have been a bit later than 1867.

Have you any idea where I could find piece please?

The Facebook content is frightening. Any politician that stays silent is giving tacit agreement to the sentiments and actions of these racists.

You can't be a bit racist.

Blame the victim - nice one.
