Absolute crap! The funky bunch does not have the humorous wit to pull off this role. Wish he woulda dumped on the Crow remake and left this one alone. At least we have a good Crow already. AND to steer away from the game plot? Why not just make a completely different movie? F-I-L-L-I-O-N! with David Twohy directing would have been the best option.
I have no problem w/ him being out, the idea of him using that great movie as a re-launch would be crap and lowers the standards of a great comedy. I can imagine better cameos and do agree that the surprise is ruined. How great was Bill Murray in Zombieland! If they wanna good cameo bring in other famous bachelors from other famous bachelor parties like Tom Hanks or the guys from Wedding Crashers (another Phillips movie.) I'm happy he isnt in it.

Lets hope for an origin story that would relate to the books and show backstory to where the ship in the first movie came from. A story showing how the Alien took over other ummmmm...aliens.
