And though I loved Sea Biscuit as a movie, it too, as a so-called "true story," was fake. The artificial emotional manipulation was totally manufactured. Read the actual story and you can see the added fakery.

And the FDR worship ("what would America have done without him as a savior!") was sickening.

We as a culture know the God of Scripture and enjoy stories involving Him.

We don't particularly care for the gods of George Lucas, including still-pumping-heart-pulling villains who abuse kids and even weirder interdimensional beings residing in glass skulls.

Bill Murray? BILL MURRAY? Does anyone call him a great actor? He's an "actor" in the Will Ferrell bush league. But "great?" Ha. You beclown yourself including him on the list.

You do point out the difference between great acting and simply being desirable eye candy. Hollywood has always been more about the celebrity of the people on screen than the acting ability. A pretty/handsome face (today's big boobs/good abs) got more roles that excellent acting.

Acting was for the character actors you loved to see in the background, not the "stars." It's obvious in Hoffman: his presence transformed a movie into a "Dustin Hoffman vehicle."

Besides, who cares about acting except self-absorbed actors? "If you want to send a message, call Western Union." "If you want to see acting, go to Broadway."

What's this? A left wing artist who thinks artists should be paid by Obama for services rendered? Sounds dangerously reactionary to me. Almost...what's the word?...oh yeah, capitalistic.

The Occupy Wall Street tools have dug up the old Marxist refrain: "From each according to his ability...to each according to his need."

Artists have the ability, and we all know Obama is very needy.
