Tell you what man, as a reader of the comics, there is some GREAT creative inspiration to be pulled from those, especially the villain arcs. I've been writing a couple tracks myself based off the comics, and I honestly feel that it won't be needed for people to have read the comics to enjoy works inspired by it. Songs tell a story in themselves, and make a good summary of the source. I feel like it might even bring in some new readers. If you have ideas based from the comics, I say go for it :D

I remember one guy took the song "Blood Red" from Feed Me and just threw Fluttershy samples in there, called it "Fluttershy's Dubstep" and tried to pass it as his own work.

Often I see people producing simple dubstep/electronic tracks with just a pony background and calling it a day.

I can understand the desire for exposure, but I do wish more artist would put more heart into it.

Tell you what man, I can critique and review the hell out of fandom music. Most of the time it's disappointment, but I've found a couple silver nuggets here and there. I might be a bit harsh, but I feel like sometimes harsh answers is the only way some people can grow. I wouldn't mind doing reviews if there was like an opening or something.

Music: I lost interest in the music posts a year or two (3?) so, I think due to the volume of posts as with the time I had to go through them to find something good. If there's a name I recognize, there is a higher chance I'll check it out. I really can't think of a solution to this though. It mostly boils down to having a hard time finding "quality" work amidst so many artists. (My high standards probably contribute to that too though lol.)
