Canadians don't "distrust" Americans. They don't even hate Americans. Hell, half of them ate related to Americans and hold dual citizenship. Actually, they envy Americans and they know they are completely dependent on the USA for protection. And they adore the American culture. Typically, they will pay through the noses ridiculously high taxes for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBUT TV) but refuse to watch the it preferring Desperate Housewives, Wheel and Baseball.. Do not kid yourselves, they are plenty grateful for the American military...means they can spend all their tax dollars on socialized medicine and free daycare. And there is the fact that 85 % of everything Canadians make, dig up, suck up, cut down or haul from the lake is sold to the good old American consumer. Anti-Americanism is a national sport. Right up there with hockey and above all, cheaper. Trashing the US has replaced curling as a national sport and gets noticeably keener with age. The average Canadian anti-American blabbermouth wears white shoes AND a white belt to keep his pants up and lives in Florida where he/she gets away from the terrible cold. And the terrible government. Americans, take pity on the poor Canadians living passively to your north. They are basically harmless, only anti American when some dumb pollster asks them. Really, they only seek to be "understood". And noticed. I know I am occasionally among them.

The essence of artistic expression is to be able to address a deeper level of consciousness and bring it to light. What the NEA and Obama et all are asking artists to do is create commercials for his agenda. Any artist who does not know the difference does not deserve to be called an artist and critically speaking, their work will be dismissed as propaganda. Since Obama's books have been used so frequently by the Obama campaign as advertising for the politician, clearly they are simply "commercials" for him. Obama's "Arts Agenda" is obviously nothing more than a blatant attempt to buy up the NEA and co-opt artists to his personal agenda. The NEA is going along with it but artists should have the integrity to decline.

ANY artist or any arts organization who responds to the call from the White House to create political art for this administration or for that matter ANY administration or political party is guilty of producing PROPAGANDA. Now this is just fine and dandy AS LONG AS WE CALL A SPADE A SPADE. PROPAGANDA IS NOT ART. THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS HAS NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER IN CONNECTING WITH THESE POLITICAL GROUPS IN ANY WAY. THE HOPE POSTER WAS PROPAGANDA NOT ART. AS A CRITICAL ART ASSESSMENT, ONE WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT IT IS OBVIOUSLY DERIVATIVE OF ANDY WARHOL AND CERTAINLY DOES NOT MEET THE CRITERIA OF ORIGINAL ART. IT IS PROPAGANDA. AND BAD
PROPAGANDA AT THAT. IT DOES NOT DESERVE ANY RECOGNITION AS ART. NOT BY THE NEA AND NOT BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC. The NEA should lose its funding since they have sold out to political pressure and do no longer represent the interests of real art or real artists. They are now nothing more than political pawns.
Artists who respond to the call from the Obama administration or any administration to create art for political purposes must realize that they and their work will be shunned by real artists and galleries as well. They will be regarded as sell outs to political pressure and their work will NOT EVEN QUALIFY AS ART. They will however get invited to the White House for a beer. Maybe.

Palin did NOT get invited to speak to the CLSA because she is stupid and/or had nothing to say. The meme of Palin's being stupid has been successfully launched by the far left blogs with the complicity of the mainstream media. It was absorbed willingly by so called independents who desperately wanted to elect an African American. She was not properly prepared for the duplicitous media and the republican team let her down badly. In real life, as Governor of Alaska, she successfully scooped the big oil companies of the North Slope Exxon and BP and pulled off a huge deal with TRANS CANADA PIPELINE to deliver natural gas to the lower 49 while saving the state millions being demanded by the oil bosses. I'd like to see what Senator Obama or any one of those Chicago thugs EVER did to compare with that! Now we see the result of electing a Chicago community organizer...one big mess...one giant ACORN. Just getting to this. i have been out of the country. Well CRAP is going on. HERE'S ONE ARTIST WHO AINT BUYIN' IT. I am a successful visual artist and have been for many years. My exhibition record proves me to be a hard working prolific artist but most of all...AN INDEPENDANT ARTIST. My work has been evaluated and accepted by my peers, collectors, museums and galleries. I keep my own Atelier and love what I do.

So comes the siren call. Produce work for OBAMA. What is to be gained by succumbing? Get on the A list? Get invited to the WH for yummy Wed night get togethers? Maybe a beer?Rub shoulders with the liberal elite? Get your name publicized ? Get your work recognized by those with political power? And money, sales?? Forget it. They will only buy "investment art". Trust me. Valerie Jarrett or Rahn Emanuel will NOT be buying your art. Just you. You may however get a grant to produce crap. If you can stomach it

OK...so SELL OUT is what we re talking about. If any artist succumbs to this travesty you need to know, you will be regarded as a PROPAGANDIST. Your work will deserve to be regarded PROPAGANDA. As far as the government is concerned, THE ROLL OF THE ARTIST IS TO CRITICIZE THE GOVERNMENT AND ITS POLICIES NOT APPLAUD AND PROMOTE THEM.
GALLERIES, COLLECTORS THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHO PRAISE, EXHIBIT AND/OR PURCHASE THIS WORK ARE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE BUYING INTO PROPAGANDA. ANY CRITIC WORTH HIS/HER SALT WILL DECRY IT AS SUCH. (MUSEUMS ARE FREE TO COLLECT IT AS EXAMPLES OF PROPAGANDA)

How did this happen??? The Obama administration (didn't Obama used to work for Obama?) gets taxpayers to fund an organization that helps get him elected. Then his administration sets up a website to direct people to the organization to work to get him elected again?? And we are still paying for this?? Are we nuts??
