I suugest you unlock your phone, purchase an SFR France sim card from Call in Europe (google) and pay as you go. They will even give you a local access number in US so family can call your mobile free, you pay for receiving call depending on where you use the phone in Europe- cheapest option I've found working in France.

Select cydia and snow when you run blackra1n or you can install from cydia, add repo http:/blackra1n.com in "Manage Sources" section of cydia. After cydia reloads you will find blacksn0w in the packages section where you can install.

I may have stumbled on a solution to lost WiFi after soft and/or hard reboot on my:
- 3GS 05.11.07 legit Canada activation
- restored previosly pwnaged iPhone to stock 3.1.2, ran blackra1n, installed cydia + sn0w
- everything worked including unnofficial France and US pay as you go AT&T sims, but WiFi lost after first & subsequent reboots.

- after several reboots/resetting network I noticed blacksn0w pkg was no longer in cydia

- installed from cydia, rebooted and this seems to have solved the WiFi issue for me

- 3G Unrestrictor (3GS only)
- Backgrounder
- BossPaper
- Make it Mine

Flawless again and again, original 2G and 3GS jailbroken and unlocked on 3.1.2 albeit the carrier logo on 3Gs not showing up (cosmetic only as others have posted) - Thank you again and again DevTeam for allowing so many to benefit from your knowledge, expertise and efforts - It is genuinely very much appreciated !

Currently running 3.1 on Jailbroken/Unlocked 2G and 3G iPhones, but I must say 3.0.1 jailbroken/unlocked 3GS is absolutely rock solid - all thanks to the amazing DevTeam! I understand for those who purchased 3GS with 3.1 are anxious for a jailbreak/unlock but for those on 3.0.1 it doesn't get any better than this IMHO. FYI I have MMS since 3.0 but carrier wants to increase plan to allow so I'm happy to emai photos or post online.
