pilgrim_shadow in somewhat of the same vein that you point out it would be incredibly useful to publish the names of the people that authorize the federal, state and local monies these groups receive. Publish the congresscritters that earmark the funds these groups receive. Publish the foundations that fund these groups, then track back any govt. funding the foundations receive. Lastly, if these groups are receiving donations it would be interesting to name who is giving these groups their funds provided that the groups actually publicly acknowledge who are their sources of capital.

Baroke Owebama great work! As with other methods of Union management lets see how many of the SEIU execs pull salaries, wages, benefits and other forms of income from affiliated organizations. It would not suprise me if Andy Stern gets several checks per month for his activities from his "local" and other unions, foundations and others. Even more informative would be a listing of their lobbying expenses, after all when Andy is visiting his pal in the White House I am sure that he is also in town spreading the Union's wealth around for sympathetic votes and/or nice regulations to punish the firms his unions is sucking dry. Does Andy get a private jet for his visits? Does Andy get the cheap rooms at Motel6 or is the Mayflower? Taxi or Limo? How close is the Burger King to the Mayflower anyway?

Holdmynose, sad yes. If retesting is necessary for the children to get an education so what. To ignore that they have yet to receive the necessary knowledge and promote the is the old way of doing things. Just pass them on, no, no and no. Put them back in the grade that they need to repeat and get them back on track.
What I am waiting for is the unions to weigh in and subvert the legislation. Will they still have the power to control the new school rules and regulations? You know in your heart that this will be the under the radar battle for the students futures.

I think most of us agree that we spend too much money on public schools. Private, charter and magnet schools can and will expel miscreant students whereas the public schools do not or cannot. Public schools have too many laws intruding upon them couple that with teachers unions, unified school districts and politicized school boards and you have an elephant designed by a committee, not to mention the straight jacket of education degrees issued by our universities. Ask yourself this, why can't an accountant teach arithmatic or bookkeeping in a high school but some ed major with a minor in feminist studies can?
Break up these huge conglomerate school districts, re-create the local school controlled by it's locality. Take the laws protecting children from being educated in a stern environment off the books and tell the unions (teacher, admin, janitorial) to go fly a kite. Let the local populace control its schools period. If they don't care then they get what they want-a bad school. Our present massive school system with its layer upon layer of complexity, opportunity for graft and corruption and misspent funds does not work.

The C-B-C- if my memory serves me right kicked Watts out of the business portion of his first meeting and that was the reason that he "did not join'. I am sure that the name calling, don't all libs name call?, did not help matters.

GoWest. As a nominal worker to help LCol West get elected I am quite happy. The C-B-C- (Congressional Black (D) Caucus), if my memory serves me right, "allowed" former Rep Watts OK(R) to "sit-in" to their meetings but was asked to leave when it was "time to do bidnet" and that was the reason that Watts never joined. Rep. Elect West is correct to point out that the district represented by the C-B-C- have 70% out of wedlock birth rates, 60% high school drop out rates and incarceration rates way too high and have been getting worse since the formation of the C-B-C-. They fought to eliminate the DC school voucher program, they support liberal abortion politics even though black abortion rates are morally way too high and they shovel fed $s to their districts despite the damage done to their people.
