Detroit, MI has been a Leftist/Democrat city since the 1950's and one can see what that mix has brought about. Once regarded as the "Paris" of North America, it is now a rat warren of crime, sloth and neglect. Since 1967, when it was destroyed from within, Detroit has withered, loosing more than one half of its population to caste organized suburbs whose residents shun the once great metropolis. If memory serves me, in the 1950's, Detroit was vieing for ststus as the 5th largest city in the US with a population of 2 million whereas now one has to count the dead, homeless and undocumented to attain less than one half that number.
