It was dubbed in English and telecast way back in 1996-97 (as far as i remember). Mom and me used to watch it and enjoy... It was really good detective serial... a very important point was that they showed none of his private life. Pure detective work. No crap...

Yes they do... Thanks fr reminding me. Byomkesh Bakshi was lots of fun to watch. Loved it. And Feluda, creation of Satyajit Ray, had to be real gem. Read his stories when i was young but had long forgotten him. Thanks man...

I am a great fan of Detective Inspector John Rebus,a creation of novelist Ian Rankin... After reading all his novels, i am not a fan but a fanatic...

My childhood heroes occupy the first three ranks. Am content...

BTW, anyone remember German TV Series with Detective Chief Inspector (Oberinspektor) Stephan Derrick?

Turks wanting to destroy the Acropolis to make ammunition. Why does that not surprise me?

History shows that a number of despots from all religions and faiths, at one time or the other, have destroyed cultural artifacts or arranged a bonfire of books and manuscripts, to control the people. That happened then and it is happening now too. Taliban destroying those Buddha sculptures and the plunder of Iraq museum. Deplorable and pathetic... They never knew the value of culture...
