Thanks for the comment Marty, but there should be an advantage for the better teams. That\'s what keeps the regular season so important, knowing that home field through round one and two is huge.

Besides, the logistics of travel and setting up those bowl games would make it impossible to play playoff games at bowl sites. The system described here is the only perfect system out there.

Would never happen - too much travel to have quarterfinals at Bowl sites. Plus you take away those bowl games as options for non-playoff teams. Thanks for the comment, but I think my plan is the only one that really makes sense all the way around. The seedings are in line with the BCS rankings, except to drop LSU to avoid a 1st round SEC matchup, just like the basketball rules.

I think too many rounds of playoffs at bowl sites would doom a playoff plan, personally. I have it so that teh first two rounds are at home, the national semis are at one location and the national championship game is at another. This would make it more realistic for fans to travel, as it is less travel than an NCAA tournament basketball package (3 rounds, 3 locations potentially). This plan would not have an unsold ticket - ever.

I'd like to think that my plan posted has resolved the bowl questions, as every team that is currently in a bowl game will still be in a bowl game, most even in the same bowl game. The bowl games would still be played the same days they are now, with the exception of those during the same time as the playoff games that would move to accomodate TV.

With my plan, there is still lots of football on New Year's Day, the bowl season still gives people a chance to follow their team to a meaningless exhibition that is the bowl game - but we also have important games and a chance to settle the championship on the field. This is similar to the basketball tournament and NIT, with the bowl games being a much more popular version of the NIT. There would be so much money around for this plan, I don't know how it hasn't already been accepted and implemented. I don't see, and have never received a comment pointing out, any flaw in my proposed system.
