"...unto whom much is given, much shall be required.”

When Jesus said it He spoke as a generous benefactor. When Obama says it he sounds more like a greedy extortionist.

If so, at least he was still less greedy and corrupt than the government.

Isn't that the truth. It just doesn't pay to be a self reliant nice guy.

Robin Hood took money from the government, that is Prince John and his cronies, and gave it back to the poor from whom it was unjustly taken. He did not steal from the rich, except to the extent that the rich were cronies and accomplices of the corrupt political rulers.

Thank you for clarifying that. It irked me the way Obama twisted the scripture to make it sound as though people whom God has made prosperous are somehow morally obligated to hand over what He has given them to the government.

Actually, unemployment benefits don't even save a small number of jobs. The total cost of it has to first be taken out of the economy before it can be transferred to the recipient and spent back into the economy.

"It’s extending unemployment benefits that creates economic activity that creates jobs..."

Brilliant! So... the more people there are collecting unemployment... the lower the unemployment rate will be? Or is it... the more people there are without jobs, the more people there will be with jobs? So... if we put say 20% of all workers on unemployment, could we get the unemployment rate below 3%? If everybody was on unemployment... would the unemployment rate be zero?

Liberal logic! Sounds great to me! Let's do it!

God help us.

There should be a "wall of separation" between government and education at all levels.
