Typical DC "journalism"....
Narcan/Naloxone has been around for decades. We used to administer 25 years ago routinely even though the price then was exorbitant! Then the patent expired and the cost dropped to pennies a dose...
The protocol for an unconscious person for unknown reason has and still is Narcan and D50 (rule out overdose and hypoglycemia)
Naloxone is so safe and literally a life saving antidote that Colorado passed a third party naloxone law enabling ANYONE to get a prescription for it(family, friends, neighbors... ANYONE).
Governor John Hickenlooper signed SB-14 into law on May 10, 2013 https://www.networkforphl.org/the_network_blog/20...

Cry me a river... Northridge deserves a dose of their own behavior... (not saying this development is correct) but when 10.5 was closed for flood repairs many more residents of Northridge would speed through Old Town and run stop signs with impunity! Thankfully now that the road is open again it isnt happening as much... but many still speed down into town onto Briggs.

That Mountain Map seems to be corrupted... try these: http://www.bouldercounty.org/doc/sheriff/plan11.p...

And here it is with contour: http://www.bouldercounty.org/doc/sheriff/contour1...

I agree it's frustrating when reporters don't take the time to include details...
Hwy 72 and 119 are concurrent for three miles... 72 ends at Hwy 7 with a mile marker of 54.06.
So this is 5 miles south of Hwy 7, south of Peaceful Valley but north of Overland Rd? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_State_Highw...
Here is the Boulder Mountain Address Map as well... http://www.timberlinefire.org/maps/BoulderMountai...

Not saying ED is the way to go but Old Town needs a plan... for many many years it has been a do what you want mentality and that has led to mini-junkyards, vacant and derelict properties etc... Then you add to that the history of mini "self serving" developers putting in incredibly cheap, low end homes(i.e. Kattell St and the trailer parks). Some people have upgraded these homes and some have not...
Old town clearly is in a transition... many of the long time residents like the no rules history, not having to conform to another person's ideal. A LOT of Old Town lives here BECAUSE they don't want to conform!
While I too enjoy that to a degree, a line needs to be drawn somewhere... lawns should be mowed... weeds cut down... homes painted... how many dog's at one property(3,4, 5?) etc. There is a fair amount of renters, lazy homeowner's and yes those who simply can't afford to clean up that gives Old Town a "Run Down" appearance...
ED may be a good solution for property like the pre-cast site on CR1 with its contamination issues (otherwise it may never get cleaned up).
The issue as I see it, we don't know who to trust... there are so many back room deals going on we don't have any idea what's really going on on whose agenda is being driven. The one thing residents are sure of, with the current administration, is that this is not being driven to "clean up Erie so that its a better place to live"... it's being driven by someone(s) effort to get rich, line their own pockets or make a name for themselves.

Apparently catering to Boulder's "bohemian"/homeless/"half" homeless clientele with an inclination towards an ambiance that imitates the unkempt, dare I say "grittier" patrons is not a sustainable business model...?

Give the people what they want, if you don't attract enough people wanting what you have to offer at a price point that supports your operation... your business will not survive.
"Big-Box" or national corporations offer people a consistent product(s) and or experience. (And yes we are a nation of "sheep" consumers)
It would appear from the comments and the video that enough people were put off by the experience to not continue their patronage.
This has nothing to do with big box vs. home grown...

So true...
Patsy killed her own child in one of her "episodes" and John manufactured a cover up.
This is one of those cases where they "know" what happened but due to the epic ineptitude of the Boulder PD and political influence there was very little likelihood of a conviction.

Hunter is still trying to cover his gross negligence, cowardice if not out right corruption or the negligence of the P.D....??? Boulder had everything set up to make the announcement of charges and do the "perp" walk (rather significant preparations for media and security etc.) and at the last second it was called off... That all being said... I will allow the outside possibility he made a tough call (and maybe the correct one) to pull back hoping they could somehow build a better case and salvage their one attempt at prosecution. Lacy on the other hand... one of the worst DA's in recent history... and that is saying something!

Anytime someone takes the right of way on a left turn, the resulting accident is their fault.
Sun glare is a very likely possibility considering the time and direction of travel.
The truck was a 2004 Nissan Titan which certainly is not a big truck.
Due to various road closures that increase the traffic on Harmony its also possible the driver was trying to hurry through a gap in the heavy traffic as well as possible sun blindness.

At this point it certainly appears to be a horrific and unintentional mistake that resulted in someones death. Hopefully no new information is discovered to indicate otherwise.

An awful lot of nastiness coming from predominantly one half the Board.... and their supporters....
It is no secret I greatly dislike Joe Wilson for egregious conduct and his continuing unprofessional behavior.

But a little research indicates that Jonathan Hager still owns property in the Canyon Creek subdivision according to Boulder property records.
It has been intimated on this comment board and apparently in the public meetings that Mr. Hager is no longer domiciled within Erie Town limits... even speculating that there is trouble with his domestic relationship. All this from the Wilson camp.
Regardless of the accuracy of the reports, it is none of ours or their business where Mr. Hager spends his evenings or for what reason. Until his official residence is no longer in Erie this is not an issue. If/when that should change then yes he should resign.
If Wilson had ANY legal recourse to oust Mr. Hager, he no doubt would have exercised that option long ago...
