Thank you, Patrick, you are performing an enormous service toward the cause of freedom in this country. Hope many more in the art community will likewise stand up. Remember: every gov't promise of payment/benefit is a bribe.
I gave you a thimbs up for the rest, but I fully disagree with dissolving the standing Army. That is a recipe for a really quick and chaotic end to the U.S.
Oh yes, at least five more. I have a sneaking suspicion the leftists are logging in here masquerading as 9-12ers and seriously watering down the votes for the really meaty ideas. In fact it would shock me if they're not. Populism sucks. Why can't the Project just CHOOSE the best ones (the ones most in line with the Principles), instead of putting it up for a popular vote? That's what got us into this mess.
About that rescinding old laws bit - we must be very careful what we wish for. That could be used for mischief mayhem. Outdated, unnecessary, illogical are all subjective terms and we have pragmatists all over the spectrum of government now who would use that for doing some (more) real damage.
I hope not. Ever since they first started talking about the film rights, I worried if they might be purchased and used for the sake of making a bad movie to discourage people from reading the book. You don't have to butcher the script to make a bad movie, especially from this book. Sorry, just skeptical about Hollywood sometimes.
Gosh, that Top 20 is frustrating, it's written in weenie-language! "Rebalance education"??? How about get the fed out of education? "Language we can all understand"?? That is broader than an an elephant's butt and gets as much wiggle room. What happened to the 16th Amendment? The income tax is the fuel for the furnace that's consuming us and all you can do is complain about the pork? Come on! How about restoring Congress and THE PRESIDENT to their Constitutionally limited powers????? Sheesh.
Unfortunately our Constitution is under such assault right now that if we don't turn things around NOW, there won't be any elections possible, at least not as we have known them. My wish is a Constitutional Convention. We need to get government back under OUR control.
Agreed. I would like to add that the single clearest indicator (besides the words with which the Founders saw fit to frame our Constitution) that this is not a "Christian" nation is the biblical admonishment to obey your rulers. We had a little thing called the Revolutionary war that kinda didn't follow that.
It has to be more than a mere pragmatic wish not to be murdered, or right and wrong become merely subjective. Murder is wrong because it is an act of violence upon another human being. The nature of man as a rational being requires that reason, not force, be the arbiter of disputes. The good is what serves man's nature, the evil is what goes against it.
