Totally devastated that I can't go see a crappy 80's pseudo-metal rock band.

Robert S said that he was going to appeal to the FCC to block the transfer of the license because Grand Rapids needs a BLACK radio station...how is that NOT bringing race into the fray? Why does it matter if a station is black, white, yellow, purple, or pink? Can't we all just stop looking at color?

But Robert S was quoted as saying that he was going to fight the transfer of the station's license with the FCC because Grand Rapids needs a black radio station. How is that fair? And not playing the "race card"? As far as the "value", there is real estate and transmitting equipment that is probably worth at least half of the bid price but the FCC License to transmit on a certain frequency certainly holds more tangible value. Try and apply for a new FCC license and see how much that would cost? So what's the "truth", truth007?

Sort of interesting that the press release from the police department neglected to say that a police officer ran into the wreck as well? Accidents happen but looks like a cover up to me?

I still don't understand how why the bidding was reopened? I guess if a minority whines enough they get their way? Its obvious Robert S didn't have the funding the first time around so instead of accepting things, he cries about it. There was nothing "unfair" about the original bidding process, just a guy that didn't like the outcome. The old owner defaulted on the loan, lets not forget that, so Huntington did what they had to do and followed the proper legal process to recover their investment. I hope Holy Family Radio ends up with the station at the end as they won the first bid, fair and square. This isn't a race issue, just a fair and legal liquidation of assets. All Robert S does is create racial dischord for his ego and pocketbook. Without people like him stirring the pot, there might actually be racial equality.

I am in NO way advocating drinking and driving however with a 0.08% BAC, it would not take an average sized female many drinks to be "legally drunk". This is a personal issue for this woman so lets not judge.

Wow...Good job GRPD!!! Where's the community rally in support of GRPD for a job well done? I guess Chief Belk doesn't have it out for the black community afterall?

So the current owner defaults on the commercial loan and then Huntington puts the assets of the business and real estate up for sale. Robert S didn't win as the highest bidder so he cries foul? First off, this is not a home mortgage and Huntington is not trying to boot someone one from their place of residence, so there is NO recission period once the courts OK the sale of the assets. Huntington, last I knew, is NOT a charity so it is in their best interests to sell to the highest bidder in an attempt to cut their losses. If Robert S couldn't raise the money needed to be the highest bidder than that's just a whole bunch of too bad. Holy Family Radio will end up with the real estate, equipment, and more importantly the blessing of the FCC to transmit on that frequency. People like Robert S, with their whining ways and race card, do nothing good for the black community as far as improving relations with other races. Although I do not agree with Barack Obama's politics, I respect him as he doesn't pull the race card and has even gone as far as critcizing the black community for not doing anything to help themselves.

I should add that if the cop really wanted to kill the perp and not just disable him to save himself, he probably would have emptied his pistol rather than just firing one shot.

Not what?

My brother-in-law is a K9 cop and had a PCP'd up perp attack him and get a hold of his gun (with a 60lb police dog attached to his limbs as well). Good thing he had called backup otherwise i would have ended up going to a funeral. The backup officer unfortunately had to dispose of the PCP-head with his 9mm. Both were cleared in the incident but goes to show how quickly things can go wrong for law enforcement officers when they are attacked by the perps they are pursuing. Its easy to sit in the glass house and throw rocks at cops, but they put their life on the line in tough inner-city areas.
