I wonder if this judge would have given Hitler sovereign immunity.

The problem with just levying tariffs on imports to address trade imbalances and pay down debt is that when you do that, you kill off demand for the imported goods and increase demand for domestically produced ones. Since domestically produced goods don't generate as much revenue for the government as imported goods that are heavily taxed, the debt problem is exacerbated because the debt is still there but you don't have the money to pay it off that you thought you were going to have when you introduced the tariff. The only real solution to the debt and trade imbalance is to shut China out from US debt markets completely. As the debt declines over time as older debts get repaid, the trade imbalance also declines by an equal amount until equilibrium is reached where we don't owe them anything and they don't sell us anything. It will be a win-win for Americans because the debt will be retired and Americans will be working again when all those Chinese jobs come flooding back to our shores. It's bad for China because they will end up with massive unemployment and civil unrest but that's not our problem to deal with, it's theirs.

“China is no longer the critical strategic buyer of US treasury securities. The Fed, in its QE role, as well as its captive “too big to fail” banks (JPM, WF, BofA, Citi) are now buying massive amounts of US treasuries."

So if you're a depositor or investor in one of these banks, get ready to to be screwed when the government can no longer afford to pay off the bonds these banks hold and they are forced to take a haircut on them. It's your money they use to buy these bonds, so they don't care.

The best thing they can do is dissolve the European Union and allow the member states to go their own way again. It's not fair that citizens in countries with more responsible economic models should have to pay for the excesses and indiscretions of less responsible countries. The citizens of the responsible countries have no choice in the matter, either. If they don't bail them out then the value of the Euro collapses and they lose most of their buying power. So they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. Either way, they're going to get screwed.

If they think they have budget troubles now, just wait until the 1st Amendment lawsuits start pouring in after this unconstitutional law is passed.

Those planes should be subject to seizure when they land anywhere outside Iran. There is a reason why we don't share our technology with rogue states, it's because much of that technology can be used in military applications and we don't want them copying it.

I think by now the Democrats who are on the fence have gotten the message that if they force healthcare they will be voted out. They will be doing themselves a bigger favor by not voting for it. Obama clearly still does not get it. America does not want Canadian style socialized medicine that is so bad that their own leaders are coming here for life saving surgery that they can't get at home. He has this assumption that we are just too stupid to get it so he is going to force it down our throats thinking we will like it once we have it like little children refusing to eat their broccolli.

They're increasing our withholding to generate a cash surplus for themselves but don't count on getting it back when you file next year. The tax codes will have changed again by then I'm sure and you'll be ineligible to get it back.

And the Democrats say the Republicans give tax breaks to the wealthy. Shame on them.

What's going to end up happening is hospitals and doctors will refuse to accept Medicare as payment leaving Medicare patients to pay the costs out of pocket when they are unable to locate a care provider that still accepts Medicare. The Mayo clinic is already starting to refuse to accept Medicare as payment for some of their services and that is only going to continue. Hospitals nationwide will look to the Mayo clinic as the model to emulate. You can't expect a hospital to run in the red year after year because the government refuses to cover the cost of providing service. Either the hospitals stop providing care at their own expense or they go under and then what happens to the rest of us?
