If the president and the democrats want to lower the intensity of political discourse, they might try governing with consent and respecting the will of the people. The people are the ultimate authority in this country and that cannot be negotiated with or compromised. While the lame duck session was going on the democrats defeated buddies were still there and they were passing legislation the people did'nt want -- business as usual. I think last week with the new guys coming in and the repeal gearing up for a vote, the dems just lost it. Nov. 2 hit em in the face like a wet mop!
. The left is hoping to use the Gifford shooting to boost Obama in the same way that OK City boosted Clinton. The problem for the left is that they no longer have control of the message. All of the information is getting out and their attempt is blowing up in their faces. As Obama himself said, there's just too much information out there (even from X boxes). The internet has doomed the left.
Sheriff Dupnik used vitriolic rhetoric to blame the incident on vitriolic rhetoric. There has to be some standard of conduct for a sheriff that is working an investigation. Should he be flaming political tension at a time like that? He should be fired.
That is exactly right! This tax cut extention is to maintain the economy we have now. Obama is selling this as a stimulus. When the economy stays like it is, with little or no progress, he will say the republicans failed. He is setting the republicans up for a big fall. Always with the political tactics, always.
People are always on soapboxes about motorcycle helmets, too. Helmets for car passengers would save a lot more lives. What gives? Big groups of people love putting it on little groups.
Hillary Clinton should take responsibility for this mess. She is the head of the State Department. Why didn't she have people on her staff review security procedures when she accepted this cabinet position? No responsibility, no accountability.
What is the policy for politicians going through body scanning imagers and being patted down? Now that Nan can't use military aircraft will she have to suffer the same humiliation as everyone else? If they get a pass, we should revolt.
Didn't NPR give Mara Liasson flack about going on Fox News? Vivian Schiller said the decision to fire Juan Williams came from higher up. Yes, I think it came from much, much higher up.
If the American people could vote on UN membership, we would be out of it in a minute. UN membership is not a civil right, so why can't someone introduce a bill to end it? We have to fund an organization so our enemies can meet and trash us. We are supposed to have free and representative government, but a bill like that will never be submitted for a vote.
Once the new mosque is built, maybe the dims could arrange for Air Force One to do a flyover of lower Manhatten to commemerate religious freedom!
