Do not shoot ourselves in the foot. Try and deal with what is important and support the country's efforts to save it from the terrorists. The service performed by the armed forces cannot be quantified. Innocent and patriotic solders are sacrificing their lives for all of us. Try and divert your energies to the biggest issue in hand. Haven't you seen the fire power the LTTE had been collecting to even take over whole of Sri Lanka ?

Let the surgeon perform his life saving surgery and save the patient. Deal with the surgeon, if necessary, later.

Lasantha over the years antagonised a lot of important people in Sri Lanka.

The Govt is not stupid to assassinate Lasantha at a time when there is so much glory surrounding the near victory of saving the countrry from terrorists. Whoever assissinated wanted people to blame it on the Govt, esp the President who is on center stage taking the place of an all time national hero.

This I am sure does not go down well with some. Esp those who have not been able to win political favours under the present regime. If what the author says about the assassination is correct and the power base of the President is also correct, why would he bother about what Lasantha says about his Govt?

Wake up!, there is lot more than what meets the eye. Turn your attention towards those people who would loose the most if the present Govt is destabilised. This will include, not only the terrorists who are seeking to have their own country but also any other force that may be suffering financial or power losses.

Who says that true Buddhism is practised by the majority in Sri Lanka? We have been a nation of rituals and not followed the true essence of this great way of life. True Buddhism is all about reflection and watching your actions to ensure that one does not harm anyone even by thought. So let us not call ourselves a Buddhist nation. What happened to Lasantha is a great tragedy and an independent investigator should be appointed by the Govt to locate the culprit or culprits. If the Govt does not do this, all fingers will point at the rulers. This kind of thuggery must end. There has to be an end to this culture in Sri Lanka
