...oh really !!...Really...??...Well now, let's see how that worked...Ole motor mouth Roy Batty (see above) pokes out Tyrell's eyes to the back of his brain, crushes his skull between his more-than-human replicant hands...and still...Tyrell is alive...OK...all this means is we sure as hell don't want those clowns writing BR 2; doesn't translate that Wright would be as stupid !!

...Furthermore...I worked California psych. several years; don't see anything "delusional" from Wright, from what I've read. He's drop-dead spot on with his questions on BR, nothing "delusional" there...and thank you for immitating me, as it was I who said his heart was in the right place.

...And heavens no...don't let me get away with "mocking your creativity"...Say,
how 'bout YOU do the BR 2 project and prove to all these "masturbators" the fools they are !!

...Finally...who died recently and made YOU the "true" fan...Daahh...does this mean ain't nobody's a "true" fan unless they raise the bar to YOUR enlightened standards...and by the by...I'll masturbate to anything I want, thank you...Gee...ain't this fun...!!@##??!!

(2/25/09)...that's right, "(you) never claimed BR was cult for nearly two decades..."...I DID !!...and I never said you "mentioned critics'" either; THAT was part of MY point...Look's like you're the one who needs to "re
read"...Besides...so what !!...as BR WAS "cult" for so long, you shouldn't be suprised (or "insulted") if someone down the line dares to say your "admiration" is "cult-like"...Sooo what !!...You're splitting hairs over nothing !!

More importantly, (which I forgot to mention earlier!), Wright doesn't have to "PROVE" anything to you, or anyone, save himself...and furthermore, I've never seen his movies so I'm not "masturbating to them"; not particularly anxious to run down to BlockBuster to rent any of his films either...again, so what ?? Kubrick wasn't so hot with his first, leaving out several other greats...

(2/24/09)...exactly...I'm afraid we're dealing with mostly 14 year olds with stun guns up their A-holes. I suspect some haven't even seen BR all the way through, or watched it with their eyes closed or brain (?) filled with helium...take your pick...

...don't know which planet you're from either, but BR was "cult" for nearly two decades...mainstream critics DID NOT regard it as a great, or even important film. Your "DVD...Internetz...fan fiction" is not at all "creative" and shows only the limits of your imagination...

old man...you ain't old enough !! SciFi was NEVER considered an "upper realm of literature" in Vernes or Well's days. SciFi wasn't considered to be legitimate "literature" in academia...give me a break...popular & cultish, yes, But it was not considered "literature". This attitude among academic elitist continued well into the 70s, which planet are you from ?? A sequel is not supposed to be a re-hash; it only becomes a "retread" if the treatment is bad. The reason there are "unanswered questions" in BR is that WE DON'T KNOW WHAT ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE is going TO DO TO US as a species...That's the whole point !!
Kurzweil touches on it, but we damn well better have a handle on "consciousness" before the "Singularity" makes up our minds for us...dare to think not?...

(2/23/09)...Thank you Cynthia...tell him to concentrate on the "consciousness" subtext I mentioned earlier and I do believe he'll be on the right path. To this day, 2009, NOBODY really knows what consciousness is, or at least what it constitutes within the film's human/replicant paradigm. This is my take on the core issue of Blade Runner. Spielberg has redeemed himself with A.I., which I believe resurrected BR's core issue, though not with as much power and perfection as BR. Tell him to look at A.I. again and ask, what is the core question both films are attempting to grasp ??!!

Look how many morons, this includes Spielberg, tried to revisit Twilight Zone...Some of the "best" (NOT !!) in the business were arrogant enough to try & dup Serling..dah...how many times...too boring to keep count... If the "best" (NOT !!) in the business can do hatchet jobs on the best material, and still be called the "best (NOT !!)...why not give Wright, the underdog, a chance? His heart is sure in the right place...ain't that what it means to be Human...daahh!!

Serling showed us, among many other great things, how ambiguity can be enhanced, many times over, IF treated right. That takes a damn good team folks, not just one writer!!

...spot on your 1st point...but kitsch ? Kitsch ?!!...Thomas-Asshole-Kinkade is kitsch...BR could never be made kitsch, no matter how many bad sequels followed it...
