And now Chuck Schumer has sent out a fund-raising and Coakley support letter urging people to vote against Brown, who he refers to as a "Right-Wing Tea Bagger." Is it possible that Schumer does not know the sexual nature of his comment? If he does know, Is he not casting aspersions on all of his gay constituents by insinuating that there's something wrong with being a "teabagger?" Amato had it right when he called Schumer a putz.
No, neither paranoid nor underestimating. This is going to be Chicago Politics at its most intense level. Obama simply can't afford to lose the 60-seat majority in the Senate, so Rahm and crew will do everything they can to seal the deal for Coakley ... and I promise you that Obama will not risk backing another loser.
Why would he go to Haiti? He would just be in the way there.... and without available electricity, his teleprompter wouldn't work...
But that's precisely why he won't go to Massachusetts unless he has inside knowledge about how Coakley is going to win (steal?) this election.
The tea leaves are already looking bad for the Democrats for the mid-term election. I suspect that if the Massachusetts Senate seat goes to the Republican, the wave of change in November will become a tsunami.
After taking a beating in Virginia and New Jersey, and having been embarrased at the Olympics Committee meeting, I doubt that President Obama will risk further damage to his already-damaged reputation for influence. I suspect if he goes to Massachusetts, it's because he knows that Coakley is going to win.
You should go back to basic reading skills, but I suspect that you're a product of our NEA-led public school system, so it might not help. I didn't call you a moron, I said that it was a moronic statement. Even 'smart' people can say stupid things from time to time.
As to the 'substance' of your reply, yes, I suppose that there are some Iraqis that don't like the fact that there are Americans in their country, but they are of trivial numbers compared to the millions of Iraqis that are loving their freedom and ability to live their lives without fear of Saddam and his brutal regime.
I suspect that you haven't taken the time to keep up with the recent analyses that show that FDR's programs actually caused the Great Depression to last longer than it would have under normal economic cycles. Far from his policies, it was the entry into WWII that energized the American economy -- under capitalism -- and delivered the greatest standard of living the world has ever seen. Even our "poor" people have a much higher standard of living than most of the rest of the world... which is why, I suspect, that so many people are trying to move *here* rather than Americans emigrating to a "worker's paradise."
It's a poor witness that ignores seven years of preventing additional attacks on our country, that governed an economy where the DOW rose to over 14,000, and only considers the last year where, under Democrat control of Congress and the normal fluctuations of the economy exacerbated by the Democrats running rampant, caused the economic downturn.
Keep drinking the kool-aid while you revise history to support your own political biases.
No, there is no ability to save a country that allows itself and its culture to be subverted from within. We have saved them when they have been attacked from without, but if they allow the immigrant population to fundamentally change their culture and their country, there is nothing we can do to stop it. We will have our hands full preventing the same thing from happening here...
