Yet again the liars and thieves who govern us have their hands in our pockets....Got to love our political class and the political leadership at DOD.
Service is no where near as important than remaining in office. When was the last time you met a poor congress critter.
I cannot speak for other folk but I was promised 'free health care for life for myself and spouse' if I made a career of the Navy. I did and two years before retirement, the Navy advised..."not so fast. We never promised any such a thing' and they promptly started charging for our 'free' care. In short they lied. It was the worst sort of lie, the 'Who ya gonna believe, us or your own lying eyes' type of lie . Lesson learned, never, ever believe a word government says. Their promises are only as good as the folk who make them and senior military leadership are simply politicians in uniform.
Contacting your congressman is futile. Politicians do not care.
This is really infuriating...First they promise 'free health care for life', then lie and said they didn't. Now they expect us to pay exorbitant increases for our free care while not expecting the same sort of increases for any other segment of society. Serious thieving. There is simply no way I could recommend a military career to anyone today in view of the flat lies they tell. You simply cannot rely on Government to do what it promises. Their 'social contract' means we obey and they do as they please.
This is the Federal Government...Does anyone really trust them to keep a promise?
Let's face it, first they lied about the promised benefit, as in pretending they never made the promise, and now they are lying about the cost. I just had a prescription filled today and found my normal copay increased by 1/3. Our 'free' care is already costing a good bit. I will be very offended if its costs go up every year while our pensions are frozen or increased only a tiny bit of the real inflation rate.
They promised us 'free healthcare' for life, then lied about the promise and now want to jack up our costs faster than inflation...Government simply cannot tell anyone the truth.
I just wrote my congressman demanding an explanation...not that Congress cares.
I am retired military. I got the E-mail noting we were not, unlike federal employees, getting a bump this year. I never received anything about more withholding...sounds like stealing, but we are talking about government.
The good lady was irrelevant 4 years ago and is irrelevant now...Being used by the anti Bush media and the dems is not the same thing as having something valid to say.
