Today, President Obama's Health Care Program was derailed, his first defeat in office.

This came as no surprise to him; he, and his handlers, knew that would happen sooner or later. It was his (and their) goal to blitzkrieg the United States, to accomplish through any means everything they could from their agenda in the least possible time.

They knew they would be stymied; but I don't think they suspected they would persevere this long. They know their machine will ultimately grind to a halt, but the damage will have been done. They know some of it will be repaired but they won't give up. Their next man or woman will pick up the axe and chop at the Liberty Tree with the same fervor until he or she is stopped.

How long it will take is anybody's guess but they won't give up until our country falls: first to facism, then socialism, then finally to communism, then just plain falls.

Fortunately, like Scrooge, we can still ask, "Are these the shadows of the things that Will be, or are they shadows of things that May be, only?”

We still have time, folks. We still can take our country back.

B. Hussein Obama reminds me of an Abraham Lincoln story:

In order to make a point, Lincoln once said, "Look; if you call a horse's leg a tail, how many legs does it have?"

His opponent said, "Well, in that case, five."

Lincoln replied, "No. You can call his tail anything you want but he still only has four legs."

Obama is not hindered by the truth; the statements he makes couldn't be less true ("America is one of the biggest Islamic nations", "Islam invented algebra", etc) but he is still counting that tail as a leg. It isn't true and hopefully sooner or later some/most of those who voted for him and doggedly support him will wake up, say "What?? That clearly isn't true!" and help us to vote him and his gang out of office.

Specter should be the poster boy for the "I am proud to serve (me)" politicians. It is more important to him to be re-elected than it is to serve the constituents that put him in office and he obviously will do anything to stay there.

Thankfully, it won't be very long.

Arrogant is absolutely the right word.

BHO regieme's Mission Statement: "We don't care; we can do what we want because we can get away with it."

Glenn - I like the 'We Surround Them' phrase and I don't see or hear it used nearly enough. I would encourage you and all 912'ers to make it part of their daily conversation. Especially, when someone writes their senators or representatives, they should be sure to politely conclude their letter with, "Remember, your constituents elected you; you work for us. You should never forget that we surround you and the only way you can continue to enjoy the priviledge of serving us is to honestly and faithfully remember our wishes in your voting and other actions."

I absolutely agree that something is wrong with the polls. How can anybody think that a president who went back on a significant number (if not majority) of campaign promises, leading a cabinet staffed with tax cheats, and a congress full of liars and self-serving career politicians is acceptable, let alone doing a good job?

Some change. I take that back - in Clinton's regieme, they at least tried to hide their actions. This bunch does it in plain sight and says they didn't.

From my contacts, I would think BHO should have about a 25% popularity, tops.

A couple of thoughts...

The President of the United States SHOULD have nothing to do with this. Micromanagement by the Commander in Chief is a Bad Idea. This is not an international (read diplomatic) incident - it is criminal and/or terroristic, and it is outside of Somalia's territorial waters. In my view, the Captain of the first US ship on the scene should have had the authority to terminate the situation (with extreme prejudice).

I hope somebody was nearby, scoped in on the lifeboat when CAPT Phillips jumped overboard. I hope I find out that a big wave or someting prevented a clear shot. I hope I don't find out they were waiting for approval from somebody up the chain of command.

I spent most of my working life as a Police Officer. I have been involved in all kinds of incidents, such as carjackings, hostage situations, etc., and my troops and I handled it ourselves.

We didn't have to wait for the President to give his blessing.

This is amazing; we are watching our country being dismantled right before our eyes.

There is no reason for this, except to totally disarm the law abiding population one piece at a time. Next to go will be the law allowing current or retired police officers to carry a firearm, then the laws permitting handgun permits, then hunting licenses... Before long, the second Amendment will be in tatters. And when I say before long, I mean within four years, but I wouldn't take any bets it will be that long, as quickly as things are progressing.

I hate to be a sorehead, but I didn't expect to find 461 pieces of email, none that I read directed to me, in my inbox. I didn't realize when I signed up that I would be spammed to death. Please - somebody at the website do something about this...

I am aghast at how blatently our politicians lie to us. I was dubious about them before, but now they don't even bother to tell GOOD lies. I just got a letter back from one of my senators, in response to one I wrote him. Naturally the letter was a masterpiece of obfuscation,.
I think we should write them when we feel strongly, and write often. And perhaps, we should include something like, "Because I subscribe to the principals and values of the 912 Project, I felt it was important that I contact you." If they get enough letters containing that statement, they may be cowed into listening. Occasionally.
