Go read the South African Constitution and the Canadian Charter, which you have never done, and get your own education. You are a typical phony blowhard who thinks if they huff and puff enough and state nonsense with conviction, it somehow make it true. Don't bore me with a response, I won't bother reading it. Reading a comic book is more intellectually stimulating than talking to you,
I'm projecting? Where in the interview did Ginsberg state that the Egyptian Constitution should contain universal health care, restrictions on first ammendment rights, no guns and no petitioning the government ? Apparently I missed that in the Brietbart clip, you must have seen the 2 hour DVD.
I did listen to the interview. You and virtually every commenter on here are making assumptions and assuming answers to questions the interview doesn't deal with. You are the one assuming the meaning and context of Ginsberg's comments. Had she said she refuses to use our "old" Constitution as the basis of her deliberations, preferring to subsitute her own criteria or the Canadian Charter of Rights, I would agree she would be unfit to hold office. I didn't hear her say anything in that interview that remotely resembles such an accusation. If the South African Constitution contains a similar protection for freedom of speech, referring to it as a model is hardly an endorsement of Socialism.
She said that Egypty should look to "all" written Constituions, which I took to include ours. She also referred them to South Africa's document, which is a relatively recent emerging new society, and to Canada's Charter of Rights. Suggestions which seem reasonable to me. To the best of my knowledge, neither document supports the creation of Gulags, government control of the media and stoning as a punishment for showing your plumber's crack while fixing the sink. I would also note that Justice Ginsberg is a close personal friend of Justice Scalia. Hmmm, could there be more nuance to Ginsberg's thinking than a 60 second sound bite reveals? This "headline" is what I expect from the Huffington Post or Rachel Maddow. You have a higher standard to uphold.
Wait just a minute here Breitbart ! I am a conservative and a regular visitor to your site. I am also not a particular fan of many of Justice Ginsberg's rulings . Having said that, I don't think it is a good idea that every member of the Court should share, lockstep, the exact same perspective as all the other members. That sounds very "progressive" to me. I didn't hear Justice Ginsberg trash our Constitution. Did I miss something?
Spike Lee states the obvious. It is the shameful legacy of Jesse Jackson and the NAACP's strategy of perpetual victimhood that the truths uttered by Crosby and now Lee, are even newsworthy. African Americans will one day wake up and see that they are simply cannon fodder for the Democratic Party.
How do minorities buy beer, drive a car, board an airplane or rent a car ? The only arguement against proving you are who you say you are and have a right to vote is because you have a vested interest in allowing voter fraud. We get it Shirley.
Ask CT workers how it feels, in this economy, to have half of your two week paycheck go to retroactive state taxes.
The "Baghdad Bob" of the Democratic Party. I don't know whose idea it was to make her chair of the DNC or to allow her to go on TV, but keep up the good work. She oozes contempt for the the intelligence of voters and in doing so, is a fitting voice for this administration.
Hollywood progressives, just like Congress. All in favor of laws that they themselves do not have to abide by. Progressive 'ideals" are for the "little" people.
