Bashing "Crystal Skull" is fun, and in many ways the film deserves it, but this is still exciting news. Plus, "Jaws" is supposed to be released on Blu-Ray this summer (not sure how many times the studio thinks they can release "Jaws" in various formats, but I'll buy it one more time...).

I think people are talking about a made-for-TV movie on the Sci-Fi channel. Only 3 theatrical releases as far as I know...

Can't argue with much you say here. You're absolutely right about the Ironman movies, there's reason to hope there won't be any sucker punches in the Avengers (it is a "popcorn flick", as you say), and bottom line, if I'm interested enough in a movie, I'll see it even if it some of its stars are outspoken lefties (as long as they "shut up and act" in the film).

Agreed, and I have a feeling Downey will get the most screentime - He's the most talented and charismatic actor of the group by far, and I'd say Ironman is the most interesting character (with Captain America a close second).

"...there's not much the stars can do when asked a direct question, right?" Right. So the question becomes, why are they constantly being asked about politics? I can't help but think that some in the media are trying to make conservatives feel isolated by constantly asking celebrities about politics, knowing that most of their answers will be left-wing talking points. The unspoken point the media is trying to get across in these instances is "look at these gorgeous people who support Obama, want you the taxpayers to pay for abortion at any time for any reason, buy fully into Al Gore's version of Global warming (etc., etc)- what's the matter with you rubes in flyover country who dare to believe differently?" It's Alinsky's tactic of isolating and ridiculing your opponent, being practiced (in many cases) by those who are supposed to be delivering information, not trying to sway political debates one way or the other.

Good point. After all, the Oscar just "goes to" someone now - nobody actually wins.

Oh yes...comment was supposed to be dripping with sarcasm - sorry if that didn't come through... (and oh yeah -"proceedings" - I can spell things correctly if given enough chances)

Well, one show has mindless zombies. The other is a sci-fi/horror series on AMC.

Don't tell him that - it could start a career that all lovers of true comedy could come to regret... (never mind - too late).

I missed it too - I thought Tina Fey would deliver the first anti-GOP broadside of the night, but instead, she was just really unfunny.
