Want off-shore drilling to commence? Require all off-shore platform constuction and drilling jobs be SEIU unionized. You will have so many platforms that ships will have a hard time getting to port. Somehow the oil will be more expensive that any other oil in the world but...

Let's divide the country into two. Conservatives in one half and liberals in the other. Each half can come up with their own rules. In ten years, we see who is doing better and the other side admits their way does not work.

I think we are about due for a change in terms. It started out at Global Warming then became Climate Change. I think it needs 're-branding' . I would like to suggest we now refer to the phenomenon as

A question I would like to see added to this poll.

Do you have a favorable impression with Socialism if you are NOT one of those in charge?

I think most of those with a favorable view of socialism are assuming that they will be in the "more equal than others" part.

I work in an industry regulated by the EPA. I am not certain the EPA has all that many scientists working for it. The people we have to deal with seem to understand paperwork and procedures and policies. They do not seem to have much understanding of the actual science.

I am nearly convinced that EPA personnel receive secret cash bonuses for stopping a business from doing business.

An example, there are two tests done on our products. The first test is a screening-type test, quick and inexpensive. Based on the results of that test, you may or may not have to do the second, more expensive and more definitive. We have done both tests on our product. The more expensive and definitive test was accepted. Because of the relatively unique nature of our product, and the way the screening test is defined, our screening test was deemed unacceptable. The definitive test tells the EPA everything they want concerning the tested characteristic of our product but, they still make an issue of the screening test. A real scientist would realize the definitive test makes the screening test meaningless.

At one time, the news media decided they could influence the thought of the country by what they reported and how they reported it. Then they decided not to bother trying to influence the thought of the country and started to try to tell the country what to think. At about the same time, the news media got caught on the wrong side of new technology. The internet made it easier and cheaper to get news from many sources.

In this last election, the news media went all out to get Obama in the White House. In my opinion, the news media just slit their own throats. They have lost even the illusion of being impartial. If people don't trust what you might say, they are not going to bother listening. As the news media's revenues continue to drop, they will head to Washington and demand truck loads of cash. They may or may not have noticed that Obama has little trouble tossing his supporters under the bus. If they do get their bailout, it will only further alienate the country.

The Dinossaur Media has one decision left, burial or cremation.

I liked his idea of going "outside the system" for the money to pay for 50 million uninsured. I am not sure what he meant by it, outside the solar system? outside the monetary system? In any event, it sounded like he wanted to get the money from someone other than the uninsurered or the insured. That sounds like a really good idea. While he is at it, perhaps he should go outside the system for the money to pay the unfunded obligations of Medicare and Social Security. That would be three major problems solved. It might suck for "outside the system" whatever that is, but who cares about them, they are "outside the system."

He wants to pay for insurance for 50 million people and not make anyone pay for it. NOT GONNA HAPPEN Propeller Head!

I know that it would never happen but I would have loved it if the Justices all stood as one and walked slowly out of the room when he went on that rant.

Some time about a year ago, I read a blog that had links to lawsuits going on against every form of powerplant construction, including wind, solar and wave. It is easy enough for the President to say he is for nuclear power when he knows to Greens will throw lawsuits against it until prospective builders give up.

When your electicity costs are fifty dollars a day, the Greens might consider discussing the possibility of a commission to study the feasibility of building nuclear power plants.
