basically, no one has any real idea of what's going on in or near a black hole and this is just another guess, albeit an educated one, but a guess nonetheless.

Perhaps black holes are where the common sense and logic of all of Northern Irelands politicians resides, being pulled in on itself, by itself and unable to breach the outer edge of itself in order to reach the reality in which we all exist...hmmm...

That's great - my cousin is the same after getting preggers at 16, she also moved forwards with her and her childs life and is now quite successful...but I could easily introduce you to at least 10/11 teen mothers who have not even tried and are sponging off of me and the state - and the problem is: people like Mrs Doyle are ok with that... I would much rather that they were 1) strongly discouraged from and educated on how NOT to get into this position in life in the first place, and 2) I'd love to see them encouraged to do what your mum and my cousin have done and improve their lives and that of their kids, NOT sit and pop out kid after kid all the while taking other peoples money, like my very own niece does. I have nothing against these kids, but I do have a HUGE problem with the way society seems to encourage this welfare society mentality among teen mums.

From the schoolgirl mothers that I know in Carrickfergus, what our society says to them is, "Go for it, the rest of the country will pay your way while you pop out another couple of future rioters". My own nieces are testament to that, one of which first got pregnant at 15 and at 24 is now on her fifth child (I think 2 different fathers - and I use the word "fathers" with more than a touch of sarcasm); has never "worked" a day in her life and I have to say, it is extremely doubtful that she ever will. She is also surrounded by ex-schoolgirl mothers all "living" in 'free' council houses claiming child/housing/heating benefits et al and revels in her knowledge that she "knows her way 'round the bru like nobodies business...",

So Mrs_Doyle, whilst I agree that there is nothing holding them or their children back, I don't agree that that is what our society says, it says "SPONGE, SPONGE, SPONGE".
Sending them to the Magdalen laundries might teach them a little about working which wouldn't do them any harm at all, at all.
