I was sickened when I watched this program. We Americans would be shocked at the number of honor killings taking place right here in our own country that go unnoticed by the larger population. Even if an honor killing doesn't take place, that doesn't stop the cruelty and abuse of Women and girls in the homes of these Islamists.

@AEC boy this is the funniest thing I have read. Do these physicians think that a little nick will satisfy these parents. You know, just sort of a symbolic "cutting" but not the real thing? This is done for a reason and a little nick is not going to fulfill the reason this barbarism is done in the first place. This is laughable!

This is the practice of a mysoginistic society! Where Women and girls are treated like property and slaves much of the time. This is a barbaric practice that has nothing in common with the practice of circumcision on male infants. I am offended that many of the posts changed this discussion from the barbaric and disgusting practice of FGM to talking about male circumcision.

The only explanation I can come up with is that there are alot of people who really don't under what Female Genital Mutilation is. It is not circumcision! It is the full or partial removal of the female genitalia, which results in Women being made eunichs to use a term usually held for castrated males.

It is CASTRATION! period! This results in so many health problems for Women, not to mention the terrible pain that a married women experiences because of her relationship with her husband.

@mg24 you are correct. The closest thing to FGM is male castration. I can't believe that someone would bring up the argument about male circumcision in relation to FGM. The Muslims perform this horrible procedure on little girls for that very reason of female castration.

I have never seen on tv, police in riot gear at Presidential events, marching up and down a street. Everyone realizes that the President has security all around him, but that is not what has everyone upset!

The difference here is that these police officers were put in place not as a training exercise, but to intimidate, it looks like to me. These people weren't part of the secret service. Security is one thing and everyone understands there has to be security for the President, but this was something different, and there is going to be more of it, where it isn't warranted, IMO.

When did you ever see teams of law enforcement dressed in riot gear, during Bush's administration, sent out to intimidate peaceful law abiding citizens? Apparently you see these people in the video, in the same realm as violent terrorists, you know the ones that used our planes as bombs to kill over 2,000 of our fellow citizens, which resulted in Bush's efforts to make sure our Country didn't get hit again, and whatever you want to say about President Bush, at least on his watch the people who want to see our destruction, watched their step. That's more than I can for this administration, except of course to defend against
peaceful Grannies, and little children carrying America's flag.

My problem with Chris Matthews posing these questions to Jason Mattera, is that he was using a very tired liberal tactic, and that is when a conservative makes a statement in support of a conservative principle, the liberal wants to know if they are personally doing what they are advocating? It is an effort to shut the opposition up.

Chris Matthews couldn't care two hoots about whether Jason Mattera has served or plans to serve in the military.
